RARE BREED ANIMALS - TAPESTRY

These charted kits are suitable for beginners as they are quite simple to stitch. They contain - Appleton's yarn, needle, plain canvas, charts, full instructions and yarn sample colour key. Each completed picture will fit a 7" x 5" (17.8 x 12.7 cm) ready made picture frame. These animals are all British rare breeds whose future is uncertain. They are shown in their natural environments. Notes: Traditional in East Anglia from 1800 to mid 1900. Often seen in estate parklands around Norfolk. Notes:  This endangered semi-feral, extremely hardy pony has been found on Exmoor since ancient times. Notes: Traditionally known as the orchard pig because it is raised on windfall apples. This pig is also an endangered breed.

Notes: This bull has very large distinctive horns. Traditionally it was used as a draught animal as well as providing the farm with good quality milk and meat. Notes: This strange looking sheep is descended from a primitive British breed.  Used to poor grazing land, the wool it provides is red in colour. Notes: Originally from the Breckland area in Norfolk. It was very popular until  the mid 19th century and almost extinct by 1950. A large very distinctive sheep.
